New colors now available for Studio Qu dyed tenugui “Ghost Plover” and “Botanical Dragon”!
The illustrator studio Ku, known for their comic essays like ‘召しませキモノ’, has released new colors of their hand-dyed tenugui recommended for autumn and winter. The new color ‘Harvest Festival’ of the ghost chidoris is perfect for this season with its Halloween colors! The new color ‘Quiet Night’ of the botanical dragon evokes the long autumn nights that make you want to quietly read in your room. It would look stunning even when framed! I will share a photo once it’s framed and displayed.
Speaking of reading, it's autumn, and it has become quite autumn-like, but I think there are many people who are busy and can't take the time to read leisurely. I myself have been reading mostly practical books lately and haven't had the chance to enjoy reading for pleasure, but the book I picked up after a long time is Studio Q's ‘Living Together as a Single Person’ on my bookshelf. The trigger was the NHK BS Premium drama 'The Two in the Apartment,' which I had been looking forward to since before it started airing. Both stories revolve around two female friends; although the situations are different, they share the same atmosphere. After finishing the first episode, I immediately re-read 'Living Alone as a Single Person' in one go. Ah, what a nice time it was~. Even if I don't recommend it, I believe many of you already have Studio Q's books in your hands or have read them, but for those who haven't yet, please do check it out if you're interested. I also want to read the original work of 'The Two in the Apartment,' so I'm thinking of going to the bookstore to look for it next.
On Saturday, September 28th, I went to the Tenugui Market.
At the end of last month, I took a peek at the tenugui market held in Nihonbashi on September 28th (Saturday)! I took a slightly detour on my private route home from early in the morning and got off at Ningyocho. In addition to the fact that I only had 15 minutes to be at the venue due to other schedules, the venue was very crowded! Unfortunately, I was unable to send greetings to the artist I had a business relationship with, as I feared it would be a nuisance. However, it was a wonderful experience to be able to feel the love that everyone had for tenugui, even if it was only for a short time inside the venue! It looks like it will be held at the same time next year, so I hope to be able to introduce it on this blog in advance next time.
Our store is a recycled kimono store, but based on the whims of the owner who loves tenugui, we would like to continue to increase the number of tenugui products we handle, so please feel free to take a look at our actual store as well.
