I'm sure there are many people who discovered kimonos and obi that had been lying dormant while cleaning out their closets during the New Year holidays. The patterns are a little too flashy for a kimono, and there are stains and scratches in some places that make it difficult to wear... but they are items filled with memories. Why not try remaking such kimonos and obi into something new?
Our shop accepts consultations on Japanese sewing, from kimonos to obi, by appointment every Tuesday and Saturday, but for remaking clothes and bags, we introduce specialists because they are Western-style sewing projects. Despite the large number of requests, we have not been able to help, so this time we will be hosting a remake order event with a professional dressmaker, Oharikoya-san.
