Open the door to the hibernation

Spring is the season when creatures that have been hibernating in the ground for the winter are invited to come out onto the ground. It's a sunny day in Tokyo today, making it a pleasant day to go out. Today at Irokuhachido is Japanese dressmaking class day. The store requires reservations, but you can check out the hagire corner and hand towels, so please take a look if you're in the area. We are also taking questions about the Japanese sewing class today, so please feel free to contact us.

Enshu Cotton Tsumugi x Hamamatsu Chusen Spring-colored cotton now in stock

We have spring-colored cotton and pop yukatas in stock. The vertical stripes of Enshu cotton tsumugi are dyed with horizontal stripes using the Hamamatsu Chusen dyeing method, and the retro stripes are transformed into a pop look. We have a wide selection of kimonos and yukatas by Morimoto Kei of Hamamatsu Chusen Kitaya Shoten . Of course, we also have a lot of tenugui in stock, but we cannot list them all on the online shop, so if you are in the area, please be sure to check out our physical store.

This is the time of year when you want to try something new, so why not try your hand at tailoring? We can of course use this as a teaching material for your Japanese dressmaking class , but we can also tailor your kimono separately, so please contact us. If you choose to have your kimono tailored at our class, the guideline is that for a single-layer kimono, it will take about 15 lessons of 120 minutes each. Since everyone's pace is different, please use this as a guide only.

For those who live far away and cannot attend the Japanese sewing class, we will only give you a tenugui gift. Please take a look at our online shop and specify your preference (you will receive one piece of Kitaya Shoten's work regardless of the amount) by email.

You are welcome to bring your own materials to our Japanese sewing classes!

There is no joining fee for our Japanese sewing class, and you can participate as many times as you like, so you can participate only once. You are welcome to bring your own materials to our Japanese sewing class. If you have something you like, whether you have it at home or bought it on a flea market app, please bring it with you. We also have a variety of African fabrics and materials for use in our store, so please feel free to check them out.
