Enshu cotton is a traditional cotton fabric woven in the Enshu region of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Most of the Enshu cotton we carry in our shop is 100% cotton fabric, but the cotton-linen Enshu cotton we are introducing this time is 100% cotton warp, 50% cotton weft, 50% linen, making it 75% cotton and 25% linen overall.

Compared to 100% cotton Enshu cotton, which is soft to the touch and becomes fluffier the more water passes through it, cotton linen has a moderate crispness.

It's so cold now, but I'm sure this year will be extremely hot again. Enshu cotton is a highly recommended item that can be worn for a long period of time, from early spring depending on the temperature , to the beginning of autumn when the heat of summer lingers, depending on how you coordinate it.

We also accept orders for the standard 100% cotton Enshu cotton.

Enshu Cotton Sales and Order Event Now Being Held!

We have started custom tailoring using both hand sewing and machine sewing.

Our store carries around 100 types of Enshu cotton in various lengths, sold in 1m increments, and has received many inquiries about tailoring. However, as our Japanese dressmaker alone could only take on a limited number of tailoring orders, it has taken a long time to complete these. However, we are now able to accept orders using both hand sewing and machine sewing, which has increased the number of orders we can accept.

[About hand sewing and machine sewing]

  • When using a sewing machine, the cuffs , armholes, hems and underarm openings are finished by hand sewing.
  • To emphasize ease of wear and care for as everyday clothing, shoulder pads and lining have been omitted.
  • The basic price is for a bat collar. Wide collars are available at an additional cost.

There are also disadvantages to adding machine sewing, such as not being able to re-sew the kimono. On the other hand, for cotton kimonos that can be cared for at home, using machine sewing in addition to sewing is safer when washing. If you have any questions about tailoring, please feel free to contact us by email or LINE.

*By the way, when it comes to Enshu cotton and linen fabrics, we recommend hand sewing.

Even if you are unable to visit our store during the period, if you have already decided on the fabric and can send us a measurement chart, we will be happy to consult with you, so please feel free to contact us. *Please note that we are often closed on irregular days, so we are unable to answer landline calls. If you contact us by email or LINE, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our opening hours will be irregular until mid-April, so please refer to the calendar before visiting us.
