Golden Week is drawing to an end, I hope you are all doing well.
This is the first blog post in a while and it's to announce an open house for our Japanese dressmaking class.
Japanese sewing classes are being held even during the holidays! Normally held on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but tomorrow, the 5th (Monday), a special Japanese sewing class will be held, even though it is a Monday.
About our Japanese sewing classes
No registration fee! Unlimited number of sessions! You can participate even just once.
There is no registration fee so that those who live far away and find it difficult to attend regularly or those who only want to attend once can feel free to participate. There are also assignments that can be completed in one session, such as attaching a half-collar by bringing a long undergarment and a half-collar, or making an Azuma bag with your favorite fabric or a tenugui. We can also lend you sewing tools for the first session, so don't worry if you can't bring your own.
We also offer lessons that include materials and allow you to complete the project in one session. Recommended courses are listed below.
No curriculum, assignments negotiable
If you have any questions about sewing something related to Japanese clothing, please contact us.
* Clothes made from patterns are considered Western-style sewing projects. We receive many inquiries about making clothes or bags from kimonos, but please note that we cannot accommodate these requests at our Japanese sewing classes and will instead refer you to a Western-style sewing class.
Create your own original design using your favorite fabrics
In our Japanese dressmaking classes, you can also try making kimonos and obi from materials other than bolts of cloth, such as African fabrics. We also sell African fabrics and Enshu cotton from Hamamatsu, but you can choose any materials you like in the Japanese dressmaking classes. Why not try making your own kimono or obi from your favorite fabrics and bolts of cloth at home?
We are currently accepting observations for those who would like to see what the atmosphere is like and what the lessons are like! 30 minutes per person, reservations are required, so please make a reservation through the reservation form. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via LINE or various SNS messages.
